In British Royal Households, First Lady of the Bedchamber is the title of the highest of the Ladies of the Bedchamber, those holding the official position of personal attendants on a queen or princess in several European royal courts. The position is traditionally held by a female member of a noble family. It was known in the French monarchy as "premiere femme de chambre", with the most notable holder being Jeanne-Louise-Henriette Campan from 1786 to 1792. In Spain it was known as Camarera mayor de Palacio. ==England==
